Free Golf on Jekyll Island on Christmas Day

We enjoyed walking nine holes on the Dunes Golf course on Christmas day. The guy at the pro shop said it was free, just take a cart and return it. We had a wonderful time on a pretty course. I took the dogs early for a bike and run around a 3 mile loop for their exercise. Had a campfire that night with Cornish hens, baked potato and salad for Christmas dinner. Yum. It was a merry Christmas indeed.

Number two hole.

Since golf was free attire was informal.

Nice day on a beautiful fairway.

Carriage Tour of Jekyll Island at night before Christmas

Took a tour last evening of the Christmas lights on Jekyll Island. Very relaxing and pleasant. Our horse was Voodoo a large black gentle horse. All in all a lovely trip.

Jekyll Island for Christmas

Arrived at Jekyll Island campground yesterday. We love our site. It is roomy with a nice fireplace area. It is close to everything. We got up this morning and went for a 2 hour walk with the dogs on the beach. They romped until they could not move. After the walk they took their naps, while we went to the historic district to shop and amble around. All in all a great day. We hope to finish it with a nice campfire tonight.

My girls Kahlua and Sophie.

I love these two dogs. Sophie has been a nice addition to  our household. She is rambunctious
and playful, which leads to much chaos around here. I would not have it any other way. I so enjoy their play (well sometimes I do get annoyed). Sophie has such a nice personality. She loves to play, but she is gentle and nudges potential playmates. Her way is sweet and always engaging. Looking forward to taking her to Jekyll Island for Christmas. It is one of my favorite places on earth. I love to walk my dogs on the beach there. I so hope she enjoys the free-time walks and frisbee throws on the ocean there.

Hair trim by Mommy. Playtime at TGO Doggyworld.

I got brave and trimmed Sophie. I started to do just the face and feet, but just like when I clip the bushes or plants, I never seem to know when to quit. Sophie is a lean, leggy, skinny almost hairless dog. She feels good. Luckily the weather has been hot in the mid 80's so she does not appear to be cold. She even went into the pool at Doggyworld. Sophie will not need another cut for the winter. I will just do face, privates and a little on the feet next time around. Sophie got an ear and eye infection on the right side yesterday. She is being treated and is not contagious according to the vet. Yeah! We can go to Doggyworld every afternoon. She so loves it that she goes out around 230 and climbs into the golf cart, letting me know she is ready for 3 pm playtime. Too funny.

Skinny, leggy and clipped. Looking pretty trim Mom?
